About 3000 students a year attend various programmes of this department. Its success is not accidental. Our Foreign Language Department was the first to introduce licenced programmes, first Longman, then Cambridge and Oxford, constantly updating its curriculum and all relevant activities, striving to achieve exellence in its performance, while well-trained staffof experienced professionals, dedicated to each student, helps them to master the syllabus of the chosen course.
Thanks to long and successful cooperation with the British Council, The Spanish Institute Servantes, The Goethe Institute and The French and Italian Culture Centres, great number of students have obtained certificates recognized in the process of finding job or post graduate studies.
There is also a growing number of those who take FCE (First Certificate in English) or CAE ( Certificate in Advanced English) exams. Since November, 2007, People’s University has officially become representative of Trinity College, London, preaparing students for getting their internationally recognized certificates. English classes are attended by 90% of all candidates, but there is a growing interest in German, Spanish, Italian, French, Greek, Dutch, Norwegian, Swedish and lately, there are more and more people interested in learning Russian.
Foreign citizens mostly attend ‘’Serbian for Foreign students’’ courses and with a little help of English or other foreign language lecturers, they can learn to read, write and speak our language. A long lasting cooperation with schools and kindergartens, as well as contemporary teaching programmes and levels, attract about 2000 students a year to the courses organized by this department. There is also a possibility of cooperation with other foreign languages schools.
